About:
Hello! My name is Eddie Profet, Jr. I was born in Manhattan, New York, lived in Brooklyn until I was 6, then moved to Bayside, Queens. My first musical instrument was the clarinet in 4th grade. Once I heard "The Lonely Bull' by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass I switched to trumpet and later baritone horn through high school.
I didn't start playing guitar until I was 17. Unlike the clarinet and trumpet I never took lessons. Every instrument I learned to play I play by ear (no one instrument especially great but enough to get by).
I joined my first band at around 21 and I've been in bands ever since. My bands were Moonwolf, Baby Blue (which became Extra-Texture), Risque, Major Deegan (which became DVS), The Late Show, Green Wilma, and Boomerang. Most of those were cover bands.
I now play with the cover bands X-Session and ThemAgain, and the tribute bands The Doobie Others and Norwegian Wood. My primary instrument now is the bass guitar which I've been playing regularly since 1991.
My favorite music is classic and alternative rock and classic R&B. My favorite rock bands/artists are The Beatles (together and apart), The Eagles (and Don Henley), early Chicago, The Moody Blues, Elton John, Steve Miller, Squeeze and Sheryl Crow. As for R&B I love Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, The Spinners, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, and Hot Chocolate.
I get the best of both worlds playing covers and recording my original songs. With the covers I get to enjoy playing music with talented musicians and for people who seem to enjoy what we do. It's a great feeling watching people enjoying themselves while we do songs they all know and love.
As for my originals someone once asked me why I write. I don't know. Why does a painter paint? I guess it's just a way of expressing myself. I've been writing songs since I was 22 (more than 90 copyrighted). Some good, some not so good. I'm not very prolific but I guess I'll keep writing until I get it right....
This project didn't start out as a CD. I would write a song, record it, then go on to another song. Sometimes I'd go back to them in a week. Sometimes it was months or years. Many times life got in the way. Before I knew it I had accumulated some 30 songs. Then about 2 years ago (when I had retired from my day job and had more time) I decided to find the best grouping of 10 songs and finally put it out on CD. Now that it's done I'm working on the next 10 songs to get rid of this backlog I have amassed.
I played all the instruments on these songs. With all the talented friends I have I could have called on them and I'm sure they all would have agreed. I can only imagine how it would have sounded with them on the recordings. Right now I nit pick and think about what I could have changed or done better and I probably need to distance myself from the songs for a while. But over all I do have to say they came out pretty good and I'm proud of what I've done. I do have to acknowledge my friends, engineer/co-producer David Merrill and Fred Guarino (who mastered the recordings and who owns Tiki Recording Studios where I've had the pleasure of recording for many years). Thank you guys for the work you've done for me! I'm looking forward to the next CD. And the next....
Special thanks to Kim and the staff at Disc Makers; Jim and Pat; the other members of X-Session; The Doobie Others; Norwegian Wood; Wonderous Stories; Chrissy; Amy; Artie; Joe D; Ed L; Al C; Jeff, Darryl, and Jenny; Jakki; Diana; Mom and Dad; and all my friends and family who have supported me over the years.

IT'S AVAILABLE ON ALL DIGITAL SERVICES. THE WEBSITE FOR THAT ALBUM IS : epjmusic.com. It's got info and lyrics for each song.
